Our Story So Far
Award Winning Study Academy
Dundalk Study Academy is a multi-award winning enterprise which was established in 2016 by secondary school teachers and State Examiners Leanne Muckian and Monique Bryson-Clarke. Through their own teaching experience, both tutors noticed that some students struggled to reach their full potential when it came to organised and effective study, often leading to students not getting the results that they are well capable of achieving.
The goal and success of Dundalk Study Academy lies in providing a distraction free setting where students can improve and develop their study skills, leading to greater academic and exam success. This is achieved in an atmosphere that is conducive to learning and study and where home or school distractions are not present. Through various courses and seminars, Dundalk Study Academy provide students with an opportunity to focus on and develop confidence, motivation and wellbeing.
Best Start-Up Business in Louth
The immediate success of Dundalk Study Academy is not only apparent in their students achievements but also in the dedication and professionalism of their directors and staff. This has led to the Academy being finalist and runner up in Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur Competition for Best Start Up Business in County Louth in 2018 and overall winners in the Louth Business Awards for Best Start Up Business of 2018.
All of the tutors at Dundalk Study Academy are fully qualified teachers with many years experience both in the classroom and as state examination correctors. All are registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland and are Garda vetted. As professionally qualified teachers each tutor is fully up to date with curriculum requirements and examination trends and demands.
Study courses are run throughout the academic year with a particular focus on exam papers, specific questions and answers, time management and the marking system. Grinds and Supervised Study are available to all students while Intensive Courses are tailored towards Junior and Leaving Cert students, including one day crash courses, mock oral exams and exam time study marathons. Other courses provided are aimed at improving students wellbeing and helping alleviate the stresses associated with exams and school life in general. These include workshops on cyberbullying, dyslexia, exam pressures and confidence building.
