Moving into first year can be overwhelming for students with the change of school environment and new work load expected of students. We are here to help- early on! In this one day workshop we will show new secondary students the best techniques on how to tackle all of their new subjects- making their lives more organised and their studies much easier! We will show them how to get into a study routine from the outset!
Daily, students are expected to go home after school and “study” the work they have completed in school. However, quite often students are not shown HOW to study the information. Our DSA Study Skills Bootcamp does exactly that- it gives students the tools and tips they need to succeed in their studies and to get the most from their study sessions, helping to improve their motivation and confidence. It is also important to realise that every student learns differently- one shoe does not fit all. We show students lots of fun, practical methods of study to suit ALL learning types!
WE HAVE CREATED THE PERFECT STUDY FORMULA FOR SUCCESS!
As secondary school teachers, we realised a massive need for students in the area of study skills. With our own students in mind, we have created a hands on course to show students exactly what they should be doing when studying for their exams including our very own DSA 4 STEP STUDY BOOSTER ACTION PLAN. We cut out the unnecessary information and get straight to the core topics of the subjects.
Every workshop is catered to the specific needs of the group of students in front of us. This interactive bootcamp introduces and focuses on confidence building, motivation, goal setting, clarity, organisation, study tips, making the perfect study timetable, using online resources, creating mind maps, using graphic organisers, how to use exam papers, cutting down content in books, memory techniques, making notes and more.
We answer the students specific questions in relation to subjects they are finding most difficult in school. It is a hands-on bootcamp where students get involved in all activities throughout the day so they are 100% confident in carrying out the study techniques learned, at home.
By the end of the day students will have a bank of study methods to take home and use when studying ANY subject.

All of the techniques covered throughout the workshop will be of great benefit to students with dyslexia also. Students are shown how to condense large amounts of information from textbooks into shortened, concise notes.
All students are given a study journal which aids them in organising their study throughout the year and reinforces what was covered. All students receive a study pack with study material, stationary and essentials to use for their studies at home including a €10 discount code for a Studyclix account!
